Downloading and Installing Oracle 12c Client

This certificate describes the installation process for the Oracle 12c Client software. The University of Wisconsin-Madison doesn't require any item version installation of the Oracle customer, merely for all-time compatibility, it is recommended users install the 12c customer. It is NOT recommended users running the Oracle 11g client update to 12c unless they are experiencing technical problems with the 11g client.

Downloading the Oracle 12c Client

The clients are stored on the UW Box service so you may be prompted to login with your NetID and password.

1. Select on the following item(s) that you want to download.

   • 32-chip version

   • 64-bit version
2. Once you are in the Box environment, click on the download button on the height right of the screen.

   Note:

   • 32-chip Windows applications will not piece of work with Oracle's 64-bit ODBC driver. Therefore, users of 64-chip versions of Windows may need to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Customer if they intend to make ODBC connections with 32-bit applications. For instance, if you are running 64-bit Windows 7 only you plan to use a 32-bit copy of MS Access to connect to EPM, yous should install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Customer. If you lot intend to employ both 64-bit and 32-fleck applications to create ODBC connections, you volition need to install both clients.
3. When y'all are prompted to download the client, cull to Salve the file to an easily accessible location on your computer's hard bulldoze.

   Annotation: The goose egg archive containing the client installer is large and may take several minutes to download.

Installing the Oracle 12c Client
